Description

A magnificent English late Victorian circa 1890 festoon necklace in sterling 925 silver with natural opal and cultured pearl drops. The total length of the necklace is 15 inches (38 cm). There are a total of fourteen (14) opals, all round cabochons. The eleven (11) suspended opals graduate in size from 2.5mm diameter cabochons at the outer edges to 3.5mm diameter cabochons at the center. The three opals in the central / focal cluster are 4.5mm diameter cabochons. The total estimated carat weight of all eleven opals is approximately 1.8CT. The seed pearls are tiny 1mm diameter pearls. Only one is missing (above the last opal drop on the right). The setting is silver. The total length of the necklace is 15 inches or 38.1 centimeters. The length of the center drop is 25.5mm. The spring ring clasp is fully functional. The entire piece is in great condition (with only one seed pearl missing). I have left the patina on, but this can be easily cleaned off, as desired (I prefer not to with antique pieces). All opals natural, in tact and original antique. Please see photos for more details.
